About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Controls Engineer to join our team at CIeNET International. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting ongoing production initiatives, driving equipment uptime, and implementing continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a Proactive Safety Culture: Engage team members and peers in safety processes to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Global Manufacturing System Expertise: Understand and effectively use the Global Manufacturing System to drive process efficiency and error proofing.
  • Production Operations Support: Provide daily support to production operations, focusing on personnel and equipment safety, process quality, and uptime.
  • Technical Support: Assist production and maintenance teams with troubleshooting equipment and process failures, and identify effective countermeasures.
  • Project Execution: Identify and execute projects to support achievement of departmental business objectives and continuous improvement of safety, quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Equipment Review and Reliability: Review equipment operation and reliability, and develop tracking methods where applicable.
  • Special Projects: Identify and execute special projects for process and quality improvements, equipment refurbishment, line rate increases, and future programs.
  • Documentation and Maintenance: Ensure proper documentation is available and properly maintained for all equipment in assigned areas, and ensure spare parts availability.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain current knowledge in fields of expertise, and update management on current status and emerging trends.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Identify technical training and knowledge transfer opportunities with other Controls Engineers, Interns, and Maintenance Associates.
  • System Design and Management: Design and manage key strategic interfaces within systems to enable component reuse and consistency to standard methodologies.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Provide support to other specialists for root cause analysis.
  • Design and Testing: Design tests to efficiently find opportunities for design improvements.
  • System Vulnerability Identification: Identify and document system vulnerabilities, and craft mitigation action plans.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2-4 years of controls and automation experience with an automotive background.
  • Proficient with programmable machine controls hardware and software.
  • Proficient with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with developing and configuring HMI software.
  • Knowledge of conveyors, welding, and robots (Fanuc specifically).
  • Familiarity with basic electrical standards.
  • Familiarity with basic safety standards.
  • Capable of supervision.
  • Proficient troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Creative, disciplined, and strong sense of responsibility.
  • Effective communication skills and a strong problem solver.
Preferred Skills and Experiences

We prefer candidates with:

  • Certified in GM Controls Standards through completion of GCCS2/GCCH1 training.
Education and Training

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required. A college diploma is also acceptable.
