Job Summary

D & N Metals Co. Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Inspection: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Parts Management: Order parts and maintain inventory to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, ensuring that all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation, including test results and repair histories.
  • Quality Control: Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that all work meets quality standards.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work as required to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Service and Support: Service attachments and working tools, and verify and repair emission control systems.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other routine maintenance tasks as required to ensure the optimal performance of our heavy-duty equipment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding work environment, requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Physical Capabilities: Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
Personal Qualities and Experience
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, with good judgement and reliability.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 60 hours per week, with overtime required as needed.
