Job Summary

D & N Metals Co. Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections and troubleshoot equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Order parts and maintain inventory, adjust equipment, and repair or replace defective parts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, including test results and repair history.
  • Quality Control: Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications and performs properly.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to handle heavy loads. You will work in a fast-paced environment with overtime required at times.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Other trades certificate or diploma, with 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment repair and maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 60 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
