Terminal Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Terminal Operations Manager to join our team at International Bulk Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our terminal, ensuring the highest level of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Excellence
- Direct and manage the daily operations of the terminal, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Quality and Safety
- Oversee the quality process at the terminal, including non-conformance reporting, training, and customer service management.
- Ensure that all employees are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Customer Service
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, shippers, and other stakeholders.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Financial Management
- Manage the terminal's budget, including accounts payable, revenue management, and equipment maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure the terminal's financial performance is in line with company expectations.
- Human Resources
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of employees.
- Manage employee performance, including performance reviews, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions.
- Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all terminal equipment, including transloading equipment, safety equipment, and other machinery.
- Develop and implement a maintenance program to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Reporting and Communication
- Prepare and submit regular reports to management, including operational, financial, and safety reports.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including customers, employees, and management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role, preferably in a terminal or logistics environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience dealing directly with safety-related issues.
- Minimum 3 years of administrative experience.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant regulations.
- Sound knowledge of governmental regulatory standards and best work practices.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Computer skills, including MS-Office suite.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
