Planning and Organizing Workload
- Work with rail traffic control to manage train schedules and crew assignments.
- Monitor and adjust train operations to meet service commitments and reduce dwell times.
- Develop and implement plans to improve crew productivity and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth train operations.
Leadership and Supervision
- Lead and motivate a team of employees to achieve safety and operational goals.
- Communicate company goals and policies to employees and ensure understanding.
- Conduct investigations and issue discipline as necessary.
- Develop and implement plans to improve employee performance and engagement.
Performance Management and Training
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
- Develop and implement training plans to improve employee skills and knowledge.
- Conduct onboarding conversations to ensure new employees understand company policies and procedures.
- Identify and address performance deficiencies.
Working Conditions
The Transportation Supervisor will work in a combination of office and outdoor environments, with irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role requires travel for company business and may involve responding to emergency situations.
