Job Title: Quality Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Supervisor to join our team at Dawn Staffing Solutions Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of quality control inspectors and technicians specializing in tooling, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor a Team: Supervise and mentor a team of quality control inspectors and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assign Tasks and Manage Workloads: Assign tasks and manage workloads to ensure efficient operation of the quality control team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Conduct Regular Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with the quality control team to discuss quality issues, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee Inspection and Testing: Oversee the inspection and testing of tools, dies, molds, and other precision components to ensure they meet design specifications and tolerances.
  • Utilize Precision Measurement Instruments: Utilize precision measurement instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMMs) to verify product quality.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME) and customer specifications.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and any non-conformances, ensuring traceability and accuracy.
  • Prepare Quality Reports: Prepare quality reports for management, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
  • Identify Root Causes: Identify root causes of quality issues related to tooling and collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of tooling products, reduce scrap rates, and improve production efficiency.
  • Stay Updated: Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technologies that can improve tooling quality.
  • Quickly Address Quality Issues: Quickly address and resolve quality issues, working closely with production and engineering teams to prevent recurrence.
  • Make Decisions: Make decisions on product conformity, ensuring non-conforming tools are quarantined and corrective actions are taken.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Auditor are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality control, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the tooling industry.
  • Skills: Experience with precision measurement and inspection of tooling products is essential.
