Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Canada (CWNC) is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead a team of quality professionals in our Newmarket, Canada location. As a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will develop and set direction for Quality Assurance and Compliance for projects related to the nuclear industry.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance to CWNC Quality Management System, customer purchase orders, and specifications and industry standards.
- Quality Standards Development: Define, develop, and implement quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Regulatory Awareness: Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and disseminate requirements to appropriate staff.
- Customer and Vendor Interface: Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.
- Nonconformance Evaluation: Evaluate complex in-process nonconformances and assess findings, responses, and need for follow-up activities.
- Quality Data Analysis: Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
- Product Assurance Documentation: Prepare and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.
- Quality Standards Implementation: Define and develop quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Corrective Action: Reviews and evaluates complex in-process rejections and implements corrective action as needed.
- Audit Participation: Participate in and may lead audits.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to inspection personnel as needed.
- Work Instructions: Ability to follow and create work instructions.
- Time Management: Time management, multi-tasking, and communicating daily.
- Teamwork: Work as a team member and participate in activities to improve operations and the facility.
- Workload Management: Understand the workload and provide support as needed to meet business objectives.
- Support to Other Personnel: Assists other personnel as required.
- Safe Work Practices: Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Experience: Four (4) to six (6) years of related experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with CSA N299, Quality Assurance Program Requirements for the supply of items and services for nuclear power plants and/or CSA N285, General requirements for pressure retaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants.
- Auditor Experience: Auditor experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent organization and communication (written and oral) skills, attention to detail, and proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office experience.
