With multiple service locations across the Greater Toronto Area, Yee Hong provides a comprehensive range of services including active senior programs, adult day services, caregiver support, transportation, meal delivery, congregate dining, home care, long-term care, and hospice/palliative care. Role Overview

The Assistant Director of Resident Care plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Resident Care in the delivery of exceptional nursing services that adhere to applicable government regulations, standards, and organizational policies. This position is integral to fostering a resident-centered care philosophy that aligns with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Resident Care to establish departmental nursing goals.
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and oversight of departmental activities to ensure the highest standards of care and safety for residents, families, and staff.
  • Engage with peers, staff, residents, and their families to gather feedback and assess care initiatives, implementing necessary improvements for quality enhancement.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of nursing experience, including a background in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation, and Long-Term Care Nursing, along with three years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current CPR Certification (completed within the last year).
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and presentation capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Commitment to quality care supported by data-driven insights.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Availability for on-call duties related to emergencies or work-related issues.
  • Fluency in Chinese is considered an asset.

Successful candidates will be required to provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.
