Grande Prairie, Canada Alberta Health Services Full time

Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services is in search of a compassionate and strength-oriented professional to become a part of our Narcotics Transition Services division. This team is dedicated to providing comprehensive support for individuals facing severe opioid addiction. We prioritize patient and family-centered treatment strategies aimed at managing significant addictions. The Narcotics Transition Service serves as an alternative for those who have struggled to initiate or stabilize on traditional treatment medications within our Opioid Dependency Program. Our commitment to enhancing quality of life reflects our understanding that recovery is a unique and personal journey.

Through your own lived experiences with addiction, mental health challenges, and recovery, you will be able to genuinely inspire hope and demonstrate the potential for recovery. As a Peer Support Worker, your role will involve delivering interventions and support that align with the efforts of Addiction & Mental Health clinicians, providing emotional and social assistance to individuals seeking help. In addition to a competitive salary, Alberta Health Services currently offers a Remote Retention Allowance, which can reach an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is compensated on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic pay rate.

Description:

As a Peer Support Worker, you will provide interventions and support that complement the efforts of a multi-disciplinary outreach team. This team collaborates to deliver treatment, rehabilitation, and support services tailored to the diverse needs of clients navigating impactful life experiences. By sharing your own lived experiences and stories of recovery, you can authentically inspire hope in clients, offer mentorship, advocate for their needs, and support a cohesive, resiliency-focused healthcare and treatment experience.
