Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in the Youth Residential Program. The successful candidate will provide clinical services to youth clients engaged in addiction treatment, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to youth clients, utilizing evidence-based practices and a client-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and interventions as needed, utilizing a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities, staying current with best practices and research in addiction treatment and mental health.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment, promoting a culture of safety, respect, and inclusivity.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program.
  • Minimum one year experience in individual and group counseling, with a focus on addiction treatment and mental health.
  • Proven knowledge of current nursing theory and practice, with a strong understanding of the addictions field and experience in mental health.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations, with a strong understanding of the importance of cultural sensitivity and humility.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
