Currently, Belvika is in search of a Packaging Project Manager for its Export facility. Reporting to the Manager of the Project Management Office or a designated representative, we seek a skilled packaging professional responsible for the development and commercialization of customer projects. The successful candidate will spearhead the planning and execution of these initiatives, collaborating with various internal and external teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful product launches.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Project Scoping
    • Oversee the planning and execution of new product and packaging projects for customers.
    • Manage project timelines, plans, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
  • Development and Costing
    • Formulate and propose packaging specifications for new and evolving products based on product attributes, retailer requirements, manufacturing standards, sustainability objectives, and cost constraints.
    • Examine and evaluate technical drawings, color proofs, mock-ups, and samples.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Quality, on technical packaging aspects and production feasibility.
    • Engage with external partners and suppliers to obtain quotes and source packaging materials, maintaining relationships to stay informed on material lead times, innovations, and new technologies in the packaging sector.
    • Prepare initial packaging and production cost estimates.
  • Trials
    • Coordinate line trials and First Production Approvals, preparing relevant trial scopes and reporting results.
  • File Setups and Maintenance
    • Manage product change documentation; maintain files and records in our ERP systems, distributing information to all relevant departments.
    • Generate project status and progress reports for Leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for lean efficiency enhancements and cost-saving initiatives within projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in packaging development, packaging engineering, structural graphics, or project management;
  • Familiarity with the consumer products sector;
  • Bachelor's or college degree required;
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle;
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as necessary;
  • Knowledge of packaging materials is advantageous (e.g., flexible packaging, folding cartons, corrugated boxes);
  • Familiarity with food packaging equipment is a plus;
  • Strong communication skills, including document revisions and report writing, with a good command of the English language;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Effective time management abilities.

Key Technical and Behavioral Competencies:

  • Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft Office;
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities;
  • Ability to schedule and manage a small team of cross-functional resources.
