Currently, Belvika is in search of a Packaging Project Manager for its Export facility. Reporting to the Manager of the Project Management Office or a designated representative, we seek a skilled packaging professional responsible for the development and commercialization of customer projects. The successful candidate will spearhead the planning and execution of these projects, collaborating with various internal and external teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning:
    • Oversee the planning and execution of new product and packaging initiatives.
    • Manage project timelines, plans, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives.
  • Development and Cost Analysis:
    • Formulate and propose packaging specifications for new and existing products, considering product characteristics, retailer requirements, manufacturing standards, sustainability goals, and cost constraints.
    • Evaluate and interpret technical drawings, color proofs, mock-ups, and samples.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Quality, to address technical packaging aspects and production feasibility.
    • Engage with external partners and suppliers to obtain quotes and source packaging materials, maintaining relationships to stay informed on material lead times, innovations, and technologies in the packaging sector.
    • Prepare initial packaging and production cost estimates.
  • Trial Management:
    • Coordinate line trials and First Production Approvals, preparing relevant trial scopes and reporting results.
  • Documentation and Maintenance:
    • Manage product change documentation; maintain records in our ERP systems and disseminate information to relevant departments.
    • Generate status reports for Leadership regarding project progress.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for lean efficiencies and cost-saving initiatives within projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in packaging development, engineering, structural graphics, or project management;
  • Familiarity with the consumer products sector;
  • Bachelor's or college degree required;
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle;
  • Willingness to travel as necessary;
  • Knowledge of packaging materials is advantageous (e.g., flexible packaging, folding cartons, corrugated boxes);
  • Familiarity with food packaging equipment is a plus;
  • Strong communication skills, including document revisions and report writing, with a good command of the English language;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Effective time management abilities.

  • Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft Office;
  • Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities;
  • Ability to schedule and manage a small team of cross-functional resources.
