Occupational Health and Safety Business Partner

As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for leading the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program at FortisBC, ensuring a safe working environment for employees. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and mitigating hazards, and developing strategies to enhance organizational performance through safety.
Key Responsibilities- Support LNG Operations: Collaborate with internal and external teams to oversee the safety of two LNG plants, including contractors during maintenance and shutdowns.
- Conduct Workplace Visits: Regularly visit work sites to engage employees in safety conversations, provide support, and identify potential hazards.
- Support Joint Health & Safety Committees: Work closely with committees to develop and implement safety initiatives, and take ownership of assigned projects.
- Develop Business Relationships: Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners.
- Take on Complex Projects: Lead projects that require input from multiple stakeholders, and develop strategies to enhance organizational performance through safety.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Regulations: Maintain knowledge of employment and provincial (WorkSafeBC) and federal legislation and regulations.
- Develop Computer Skills: Enhance computer skills, including MS Office Suite and HRIS, to support OHS program management.
FortisBC offers a flexible work program, allowing you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year, subject to business or operational needs.
