Advisory Supervisor – Process Risk and Controls Solutions

Position Overview

As a supervisor within RSM's expanding Process Risk and Controls Practice, you will leverage your expertise while enhancing your leadership capabilities through extensive client engagement and exposure to the financial services sector. In our Process Risk and Controls Practice, we often collaborate with a client's internal audit function, chief risk officer, Sarbanes-Oxley project teams, and various management members responsible for risk management. Our advisors assist clients in identifying and prioritizing risks while utilizing processes and controls to mitigate risk exposure.

Client Experience

  • Gain insights into the industries and clients we serve in the middle market, utilizing this knowledge to become a trusted advisor.
  • Incorporate current financial services industry thought leadership into client services.
  • Independently implement and mentor others on foundational industry policies and procedures.
  • Manage process-level client relationships and collaborate with external stakeholders.
  • Lead risk assessment interviews and develop internal audit plans.
  • Draft test plans or work programs for senior review.
  • Create and review narratives or flowcharts for processes.
  • Identify and evaluate risks and controls for processes as necessary.
  • Review staff work for accuracy and well-reasoned conclusions.
  • Oversee budgets and provide precise estimates to engagement leaders.
  • Prepare drafts of deliverables.
  • Master and accurately apply IIA Professional Standards, Internal Methodology, and industry-specific guidelines (as applicable).
  • Support multiple client projects concurrently while contributing to other firm initiatives.
  • Engage in relevant industry associations and events to maintain industry focus and relationships.

  • Identify new client opportunities or suggest ideas for introducing others to existing client relationships.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the financial services industry, particularly in audit or internal control roles.
  • Proficiency in professional writing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools.
  • Relevant job certification (e.g., CPA, CIA).
  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs and collaborate with others both in-person and remotely.
  • Flexibility in work arrangements, embracing remote work and new tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Established experience across multiple industries or expertise in a specific industry.

Compensation Range: $78,000 - $122,000
