Position Overview:

As a Process Control Specialist at Sotera Health, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operational systems under the guidance of the Process Supervisor or Operations Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor various parameters such as pressure, temperature, and humidity levels, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular monitoring of operational systems, which includes:
    • Tracking pressure, temperature, and humidity levels through charts or digital displays.
    • Adjusting controls and manipulating valves to maintain safe equipment functionality.
    • Inspecting sterilization units and auxiliary equipment to identify any operational issues and assisting in necessary repairs.
    • Documenting process metrics and reporting any product discrepancies to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
    • Communicating system malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor or Technicians.
  • Execute routine preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and collaborate with the Maintenance team as needed.
  • Handle the storage and disposal of processing chemicals in accordance with established safety protocols and regulations.
  • Engage in safety committees and strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and practices.
  • Support additional tasks as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee the activities of Process Assistant Operators.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience of 6 months to 1 year in a sterilization setting.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Availability to work designated shifts.
  • Capability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting tasks.
  • Experience operating forklifts is essential.
  • Basic computer skills are advantageous.

Special Requirements:

  • Experience in environments utilizing EO sterilization methods is a plus.
  • Must be medically cleared for respirator usage.
  • Ability to withstand high temperatures and humidity levels (up to 120°F and 60% RH for short durations).
