Supervisor - Process Risk and Controls Specialist

About the Role

RSM US LLP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor to join our Process Risk and Controls Practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading risk assessment management interviews and internal audit plan development, as well as drafting test plans or work programs for review by senior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Experience
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their industries and leveraging this knowledge to provide trusted advisory services.
    • Stay up-to-date on relevant financial services industry thought leadership and incorporate this into client service.
    • Lead risk assessment management interviews and internal audit plan development.
    • Own process-level client relationships and collaborate with external stakeholders.
  • Talent Experience
    • Encourage colleagues to think creatively and strive for growth through development opportunities.
    • Proactively seek out opportunities to learn from or teach team members, build a coaching/mentoring network, and take advantage of training opportunities.
    • Maintain a willingness to give and receive candid feedback in both written and verbal form.
  • Business Development
    • Actively participate in relevant industry associations and events.
    • Demonstrate industry understanding and provide thought leadership to clients and prospects.
    • Build an internal network and demonstrate familiarity with other services provided by the firm.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in business, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in the financial services industry in audit, internal audit, or related internal control positions.
  • Proficiency in professional writing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools.
  • Job-relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CIA).
  • Ability to travel to meet client needs and work collaboratively with others in-person and remotely.
  • Openness to workday flexibility, agility, remote work environment, and leveraging new tools.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Established experience in multiple industries or subject-matter expertise in one specific industry.
