Your Role:

As a Risk and Controls Consultant, you will be an integral part of CIBC's Governance, Risk, and Controls team, focusing on the evaluation of technology controls within the Technology Infrastructure & Innovation (TI&I) division. You will utilize your independent judgment to establish methodologies and approaches for your work, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to gather, provide, verify, and discuss information and best practices. This role requires you to independently document the outcomes of detailed procedures, configurations, plans, and reports that inform decision-making regarding control design and operational effectiveness.

We offer a flexible work environment that allows you to balance your responsibilities, with the option to work remotely for part of the week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control Evaluation: You will be tasked with assessing various Technology Controls on a quarterly basis, documenting your findings with appropriate evidence to ensure compliance with control requirements. You will communicate any deficiencies to senior management and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Risk Assessment Participation: You will assist in preparing risk assessment documentation and engage with relevant parties to collect necessary artifacts for control evaluations. Your role will also involve active participation in meetings with external auditors.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: You possess a solid background in testing Technology Controls, identifying deficiencies, evaluating controls, and providing recommendations for enhancements, with a comprehensive understanding of CIBC's Control Framework.
  • Certifications: You hold relevant certifications such as ISACA (CISA, CRISC, CISM), CISSP, or CIA, and are knowledgeable about regulatory requirements across various frameworks.
  • Influential Communicator: You understand the importance of building relationships and networks to achieve success, and you effectively communicate your ideas to inspire outcomes.
  • Detail-Oriented: Your keen attention to detail and critical thinking skills enable you to make informed decisions.
