About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to oversee the day-to-day activities of site maintenance and manage various resources to support production demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and manage site performance through effective problem-solving with experience in process utilities, HVAC, OEMs, process chemicals, BAS, Purified Water Systems (PWS), and instrumentation.
  • Resolve complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist, utilizing best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
  • Lead the work of project teams, formally train junior staff, and manage contractors hired to execute site-related work and ongoing projects as required.
  • Oversee site daily activities, including pest control, heating and cooling, cleaning, ground and building maintenance, and PWS.
  • Execute repairs as needed for both production and building, and maintain stores by ordering consumables/parts for site group and site consumption.
  • Identify, prevent, and proactively correct workplace hazards and conditions, perform incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and establish appropriate corrective action.
  • Role model EHS practices to prevent the release of materials/energy, reduce EHS impacts, and ensure adherence to EHS regulatory requirements and procedures.
Requirements
  • A professional license: electrician, millwright, Science/Engineering degree in such field.
  • Preferred: BASc Engineering; Professional designation in Engineering (PEng) preferred.
  • 15+ years experience in maintenance field.
  • Chemical, Food and/or Pharma experience required.
  • Basic computer skills required with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have a working knowledge of maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of building life cycle in order to participate in strategically planning.
  • The ability to understand the scope of work to be able to estimate job costs.
