About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Mazy's Maintenance & Cleaning Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our cleaning staff and ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of cleaning staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare Budgets and Estimates: Develop and manage budgets and cost estimates for cleaning and maintenance projects, ensuring that we stay within budget and meet our financial targets.
  • Coordinate Services: Arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, and renovations as needed, and ensure that these services are completed to a high standard.
  • Manage Financial Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment records.
  • Assist Cleaners: Provide support and guidance to our cleaning staff as needed, and assist with tasks such as cleaning and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, such as facilities management and human resources, to ensure that our operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Work Setting: Office building, commercial facility, hospital/medical facility or clinic.
  • Tasks: Hire and train or arrange for training of cleaning staff, supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards, prepare budget and cost estimates, recommend or arrange for additional services required, maintain financial records, receive payment for specialized cleaning jobs, assist cleaners in performing duties, co-ordinate work activities with other departments, establish work schedules.
  • Supervision: 5-10 people, light duty cleaners.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, reliability.
