About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Mazy's Maintenance & Cleaning Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our cleaning staff and ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and develop a team of cleaning staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Oversee the daily activities of our cleaning staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Inspect Sites and Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of our facilities to ensure that they meet our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Prepare Budgets and Cost Estimates: Develop and manage budgets and cost estimates for cleaning and maintenance projects.
  • Recommend Additional Services: Identify opportunities for additional services, such as painting, repair work, or renovations, and recommend these to our management team.
  • Maintain Financial Records: Ensure that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date, including payment records and budget reports.
  • Coordinate Work Activities: Coordinate work activities with other departments, such as facilities management and maintenance.
  • Establish Work Schedules: Develop and implement work schedules for our cleaning staff to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in the cleaning and maintenance industry.
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Work Setting: Our facilities are located in office buildings, commercial facilities, hospitals, medical facilities, or clinics.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: This role requires a fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, and physically demanding work. You must be able to handle heavy loads and have a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: You must have excellent oral communication skills, be reliable, and have a client-focused approach. You should also be flexible, have initiative, and be able to make sound judgments.
