Jump Recruitment Specialists is currently in search of a skilled Lead Accounting Specialist to enhance the financial operations within a reputable automotive group.

This organization stands as a prominent dealer group in the automotive sector, recognized for its extensive range of luxury vehicle brands. As a family-owned enterprise, it prides itself on delivering exceptional service and maintaining a strong presence in the automotive market.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Lead Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Assistant Controller and play a vital role within the accounting division. This individual should possess a keen eye for detail and be a collaborative team member, contributing significantly to the overall effectiveness of the finance department. Experience in automotive finance is advantageous.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Execute account reconciliations to guarantee the precision and completeness of financial records
  2. Calculate and file HST returns while managing payment processes
  3. Provide assistance with the processing of new and pre-owned vehicles as required
  4. Conduct financial audits to pinpoint areas for enhancement and ensure adherence to regulations
  5. Oversee monthly HAPSET calculations and corresponding payments
  6. Perform bank reconciliations
  7. Manage monthly flooring interest calculations and payments
  8. Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable operations
  9. Offer guidance and support to junior accounting personnel
  10. Conduct monthly reconciliations and review financial schedules
  11. Aid in the preparation of year-end audit documentation
  12. Support various accounting functions and responsibilities as necessary
  13. Assist in training both new and existing staff members

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  2. At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting capacity
  3. Familiarity with automotive finance, particularly with systems like CDK, is a plus
  4. Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  5. Proficient computer skills, especially in Excel
  6. Capability to work autonomously and meet deadlines effectively
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  8. Adaptability to a dynamic work environment
  9. Proven skills in strategic financial and operational management along with long-term planning
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  11. A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
