Position: Post-Secondary Instructor

Compensation: $54.34 to $73.93 per hour

Location: Unit Scurfield Blvd.

As a Post-Secondary Instructor reporting to the Academic Coordinator, you will bring your expertise, enthusiasm for your field, and exceptional interpersonal skills to create a remarkable educational journey for adult learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction using diverse teaching methods tailored to accommodate different learning styles, enhancing student engagement and participation.
  • Utilize relevant technology, including MITT's Learning Management System and remote learning tools, to support effective instruction.
  • Prepare comprehensive course outlines detailing content, timelines, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.
  • Administer and evaluate assignments and assessments, providing timely feedback to facilitate student learning and improvement.
  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment, encouraging professionalism and collaboration among students.
  • Conduct curriculum research and collaborate with curriculum development teams to ensure course content remains current and relevant.
  • Assist with Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements, preparing materials and conducting visits to ensure student success in practical settings.

Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications in the relevant discipline or subject area.
  • A degree or diploma in adult education is an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years of recent, industry-related experience.
  • Experience in training and facilitating adult learners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical skills related to classroom technology.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • Online or blended learning teaching experience.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
