Job Summary

The Shared Health organization is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Educator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for nursing staff and support personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and registered psychiatric nurses.
  • Design and implement teaching and learning activities to enhance nursing practice standards and patient education.
  • Collaborate with program teams to develop and evaluate educational programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff on professional development and self-improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical nursing practices and education strategies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of four years of recent related nursing experience with demonstrated expertise in a defined area of clinical nursing practice.
  • Previous experience in teaching, education, and program development and evaluation is an asset.
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required; master's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) is mandatory.
  • Active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.
  • Current CPR (Targeted Responder) certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate or certification in a related specialty area.
  • Competency with word processing and presentation programs.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations.
  • Evidence of knowledge of the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function creatively and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
  • Initiates and supports change.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
  • Ability to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg (25 lbs.).
  • Travel to other healthcare facilities within the Shared Health organization will be required.
  • A valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license and access to a personal motor vehicle are required.
