About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Therapy: Offer individual and group therapy sessions to patients, utilizing evidence-based techniques to promote mental health and well-being.
  • Counsel and Assess: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patients' mental health needs, and develop personalized treatment plans to address these needs.
  • Plan Intervention Programs: Design and implement intervention programs to promote mental health, prevent mental illness, and support patients in achieving their goals.
  • Administer Standard Psychological Tests: Administer standardized psychological tests to assess patients' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
  • Interpret Test Results: Interpret test results to inform treatment planning and make data-driven decisions.
  • Offer Mediation, Conciliation, and Arbitration Services: Provide mediation, conciliation, and arbitration services to patients, families, and healthcare teams to resolve conflicts and promote effective communication.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in mental health settings, preferably in a clinical or therapeutic role.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Provincial or territorial Psychologist's Certificate of Registration.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgment, and values and ethics.
