Your Opportunity:

As a Rehabilitation Therapist I in this supportive environment, your role will primarily involve independent practice, while also engaging in communication and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team concerning clients at the facility, as well as with community partners. In this capacity, you will provide clinical oversight to a Therapy Assistant and may occasionally have the chance to mentor Physiotherapy or Therapy Assistant students.

Description:

In the role of Rehabilitation Therapist I (PT), you will deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at helping clients attain optimal physical function and independence in various contexts, including development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline. Your responsibilities will encompass intervention strategies such as prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, and referral and transition support for individuals, groups, populations, and communities. You will actively involve clients and their families as essential members of the healthcare team, promoting their engagement in all facets of care. The PT will work collaboratively with patients and families to identify, implement, and assess suitable rehabilitation strategies.

You will engage in diverse interprofessional teams to enhance awareness, enrich support systems, and participate in quality improvement initiatives; collaborating with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for clients. Additionally, you will contribute to quality enhancement and the professional community, engage in peer mentoring, and oversee students. Clinical supervision may also be provided to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Class 5 driver's license or non-GDL. Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association is required. Heart & Stroke: BCLS-HCP certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current AADL Authorizer is preferred.
