As a Family Support Counselor, you will serve as the primary clinician delivering therapeutic interventions to families participating in our inpatient and outpatient programs. You will be an essential member of a multidisciplinary team at our pioneering Center for Excellence, collaborating with various agencies to ensure comprehensive care through a trauma-informed approach.

Your responsibilities will include offering family therapy services and ongoing support to a diverse caseload of families facing challenges related to moderate to severe mental health issues. You will also assist in supporting all initiatives under the Child, Youth, and Families Addiction and Mental Health Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for clients and their families.
  • Provide clinical consultation to other programs and community resources.
  • Act as a liaison to promote and develop preventative health initiatives within the community.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community services to ensure a seamless continuum of care.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications: a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work (clinical specialization), Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or Psychiatric Nursing, with relevant training in mental health assessment and psychotherapy. Registration with the applicable regulatory college is essential.

Additional Required Qualifications:

All applicants should have a Master's degree in a relevant field and be registered with a regulatory body. Flexibility to work in various locations and a strong understanding of the complexities involved in the physical, emotional, mental, developmental, and spiritual health of children, youth, and families are critical.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of post-graduate experience working with children, youth, and families facing complex needs is preferred.
