Job Overview

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Hybrid position requiring in-office presence 2-3 times per week.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the global cloud architecture of the enterprise, taking ownership of the security vision and strategy for cloud-based applications. This individual will be tasked with enhancing and maintaining security across our cloud environments. The Senior Cloud Security Engineer will be involved in developing and maintaining policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with cloud service providers. A thorough understanding of the enterprise's security objectives, as defined by its policies and guidelines, is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement, and manage cloud security tools and services.
  2. Create scalable processes for cloud access provisioning.
  3. Monitor and respond to alerts and incidents from security tools.
  4. Identify and address security vulnerabilities within the cloud infrastructure.
  5. Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, and compliance teams to execute security strategies.
  6. Review cloud architecture and design with a focus on security, providing actionable recommendations.
  7. Act as a subject matter expert on security tools, applications, and processes.
  8. Conduct security planning for cloud environments to identify necessary security measures.
  9. Stay informed about various cloud platforms and their security requirements.
  10. Develop cloud security criteria, procedures, and policies.
  11. Integrate cloud-aware authentication mechanisms.
  12. Utilize security orchestration and automation for cloud environments.
  13. Guide the remediation of identified cloud vulnerabilities.
  14. Perform security operations responsibilities.
  15. Incorporate security into the software development lifecycle.
  16. Establish requirements and metrics for secure software development practices.
  17. Assist teams in resolving security challenges while adhering to business requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 3-8 years of experience in Cloud Security, or 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  2. Proven experience in architecting solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure.
  3. Experience in deploying and customizing security tools, including vulnerability scanners and firewalls.
  4. Familiarity with log management and correlation systems.
  5. Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages.
  6. Comprehensive understanding of cloud and network security principles.
  7. Knowledge of modern cloud technology components and deployment methodologies.
  8. Awareness of Zero Trust security principles.
