Job Overview

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Hybrid position requiring attendance at our Elmhurst, IL location 2-3 times per week.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the enterprise's global cloud architecture and will be responsible for defining the security vision and strategy for cloud-based applications. This position entails maintaining and enhancing security across our cloud environments. The Senior Cloud Security Engineer will engage in the development and maintenance of policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring compliance with cloud service providers. This role requires a thorough understanding of the enterprise's security objectives as outlined by its policies and actively working to uphold those standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and manage cloud security tools and services.
  2. Design and establish scalable processes for cloud access provisioning.
  3. Monitor and respond to alerts and incidents from security tools.
  4. Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities within the cloud infrastructure.
  5. Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, and compliance teams to execute security initiatives.
  6. Review cloud architecture and design with a focus on security, providing actionable recommendations.
  7. Act as a subject matter expert for security tools, applications, and processes.
  8. Conduct cloud security assessments to determine necessary security measures.
  9. Maintain expertise in various cloud platforms.
  10. Develop cloud security criteria, procedures, and policies.
  11. Integrate cloud-aware authentication mechanisms.
  12. Utilize security orchestration and automation for cloud environments.
  13. Guide and oversee the remediation of identified cloud vulnerabilities.
  14. Perform security operations responsibilities.
  15. Incorporate security into the software development lifecycle.
  16. Establish requirements and metrics for secure software development practices.
  17. Assist other teams in addressing security challenges in alignment with business needs and best practices.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, along with 3-8 years of experience in Cloud Security, or 8-10 years of relevant Cloud Security experience.
  2. Proven experience in architecting solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure.
  3. Experience in deploying and customizing security tools such as vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
  4. Familiarity with log management and correlation systems.
  5. Proficient in one or more programming or scripting languages.
  6. Comprehensive understanding of cloud and network security principles.
  7. Knowledge of modern cloud technology components and deployment strategies.
  8. Understanding of Zero Trust security principles.
