Job Overview

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Hybrid position requiring attendance at our Elmhurst, IL location 2-3 times per week.

This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the global cloud architecture of the enterprise and will be responsible for the security vision and strategy pertaining to cloud-based applications. The Senior Cloud Security Engineer will oversee the enhancement and maintenance of security measures across our cloud environments. This position involves the formulation and upkeep of policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring compliance with cloud service providers. The individual in this role is expected to align with the enterprise's security objectives as defined by established policies and actively contribute to achieving those goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and manage cloud security tools and services.
  2. Design and establish scalable processes for cloud access provisioning.
  3. Monitor and respond to alerts and incidents generated by security tools.
  4. Identify and rectify security vulnerabilities within the cloud infrastructure.
  5. Collaborate with security leadership, engineering teams, and compliance units to execute security initiatives.
  6. Assess our cloud architecture through a security perspective to provide actionable recommendations.
  7. Act as a subject matter expert for security tools, applications, and methodologies.
  8. Conduct cloud security assessments to determine necessary security measures.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various cloud platforms.
  10. Develop criteria, procedures, and policies for cloud security.
  11. Integrate cloud-aware authentication mechanisms.
  12. Utilize security orchestration and automated response solutions for cloud environments.
  13. Provide oversight and guidance for addressing identified cloud vulnerabilities.
  14. Perform security operations (SecOps) tasks.
  15. Incorporate security into the software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
  16. Establish requirements, methodologies, and operational metrics for secure software development (SecDevOps).
  17. Assist other teams in resolving security challenges in alignment with business needs and best practices.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, along with 3-8 years of experience in Cloud Security or 8-10 years of relevant Cloud Security experience.
  2. Proven experience in architecting solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure.
  3. Experience in deploying and customizing security tools such as vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
  4. Familiarity with log management and/or correlation systems.
  5. Proficient in one or more programming or scripting languages.
  6. Comprehensive understanding of cloud and network security principles.
  7. Knowledge of contemporary cloud technology components and deployment methodologies.
  8. Understanding of Zero Trust security principles.
