JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Change Management Specialist to join our Employee Experience Center of Excellence. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Change, the Change Management Specialist is essential in facilitating successful organizational transformations and nurturing a culture of adaptability. We seek a collaborative leader who can leverage their expertise in Change Management principles to guide our workforce through transitions, ensuring effective execution of strategic initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Change Strategy Development: Partner with project leaders to create detailed change management strategies that align with OPG's objectives and promote successful initiative adoption.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels, ensuring their involvement and support throughout the change journey.
  • Communication Planning: Assist in crafting engaging communication plans and materials that clearly articulate the purpose, benefits, and impacts of change initiatives to diverse audiences.
  • Learning and Support: Collaborate with the training team to provide employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to embrace change effectively.
  • Impact Analysis: Perform comprehensive impact assessments to identify potential challenges and risks, developing proactive strategies to address them.
  • Success Metrics: Define and track success metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and integrating best practices into future change efforts.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree/College Diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Adult Education, or Change Management.
  • Certification in Change Management (e.g., CCMP) is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in change management or organizational development within a large organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change initiatives from start to finish.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating engaging presentations and training materials.
  • Proficiency in change management methodologies and tools (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci).
  • Exceptional project and program management skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Able to navigate a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities effectively.
  • Experience in a technical or multi-union workforce is an asset.
  • Background in regulated industries such as utilities, energy, or healthcare is preferred.
