JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is in search of a passionate and skilled Change Management Specialist to join our Employee Experience Center of Excellence. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Change, the Change Management Specialist is crucial in steering successful organizational change initiatives and nurturing a culture of adaptability and resilience. We seek a collaborative leader who can leverage their expertise in Change Management principles to guide our workforce through transitions, ensuring the effective implementation of strategic projects and programs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Change Strategy Development: Partner with project leaders to create comprehensive change management strategies that align with OPG's business goals and facilitate the successful adoption of initiatives.
  • Client Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all organizational levels, ensuring their engagement and support throughout the change process.
  • Communication Planning: Assist in developing effective communication plans and materials that clearly articulate the purpose, benefits, and impacts of change initiatives to diverse audiences.
  • Learning and Support: Collaborate with our training team to equip employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to embrace change and excel.
  • Impact Analysis: Conduct comprehensive impact assessments to identify potential challenges and risks, developing proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Success Metrics: Define and monitor success metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement/Innovation: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and integrating best practices into future change efforts.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree/College Diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Adult Education, or Change Management.
  • Certification as a Change Management Professional (CCMP) or similar credential is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in change management, organizational development, or a similar role within a large organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with extensive experience in creating engaging presentations and training materials.
  • Proficiency in change management methodologies and tools (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci).
  • Strong project and program management experience.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing changing priorities.
  • Experience in a highly technical and/or multi-union workforce is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry such as utilities, energy, or healthcare is preferred.
