The Vice President, Chief Data Officer (CDO) will provide strategic leadership across the organization in the development, implementation, and enhancement of data-driven strategies that support business objectives. Acting as a catalyst for fostering a data-centric culture, the CDO will champion new data utilization practices and uphold excellence through comprehensive data governance and information policies. This role will involve close collaboration with the VP of Property and Casualty Business Intelligence (BI) and the Chief Analytics Officer, as well as other key stakeholders, to enhance enterprise-wide data capabilities that enable both strategic and tactical business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and refine the data strategy and execution plan to enhance real-time analytics capabilities and support Guided Omni and Distribution Strategies. Establish and manage data governance and management frameworks to ensure data integrity and trustworthiness across the organization. Collaborate with enterprise and business stakeholders to lead regulatory and compliance initiatives related to data assets. Organize and co-chair data and analytics governance councils to oversee policy creation and compliance. Promote collaboration among technology, business, and analytics teams to drive strategic data integration across various business lines. Serve as a trusted executive partner for business data enablement, establishing a vision for data as a valuable business asset. Inspire and guide your leadership team to achieve strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentorship.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in data management, including 5+ years in leadership roles. A post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline. Proven experience in executing complex strategic data modernization initiatives. In-depth knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, financial data governance, data architecture, or data engineering. Familiarity with data regulatory compliance requirements in the insurance or financial services sector. Strong business acumen with experience in leading complex enterprise processes and information strategies. Expertise in leading teams to address complex challenges in a collaborative environment. Ability to navigate organizational complexity with a positive and resilient mindset.

Additional Information:

Occasional travel may be required. Confidentiality is paramount regarding sensitive matters and employee information. A background check may be conducted as a condition of employment. Proficiency in English is essential for this role.
