Position Summary

Are you an actuary with a strong interest in data science? As a Senior Actuarial Data Scientist, you will leverage your actuarial knowledge to tackle intricate challenges and develop innovative solutions. This role places you at the forefront of transforming actuarial analysis through advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Actuarial Transformation: Spearhead projects that integrate AI and advanced analytics into actuarial and financial functions, focusing on critical areas such as risk evaluation and financial forecasting.
  • Innovative Solutions: Collaborate with internal actuarial and business leaders to deliver analytics-driven insights that address complex business challenges.
  • Analytics Implementation: Design and execute state-of-the-art analytics solutions to enhance business processes and generate significant organizational value.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside actuarial stakeholders, business operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of your solutions into existing workflows.
  • Process Enhancement: Analyze current actuarial processes to identify opportunities for improvement through advanced analytics.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize extensive actuarial and financial data to build sophisticated models for risk assessment and forecasting.
  • Thought Leadership: Research and apply new analytics methodologies relevant to actuarial science, ensuring our practices remain at the industry's forefront.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior team members, promoting best practices and fostering a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Actuarial designation (FSA, FCIA) with substantial experience in progressive actuarial roles.
  • Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical aspects of actuarial work, including proficiency in SQL, Python, and actuarial software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in big data processing frameworks.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a focus on team development and performance management.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex actuarial concepts clearly.
