Job Overview:

Are you an experienced actuary with a strong interest in data science? In the role of Senior Actuarial Data Scientist, you will leverage your actuarial knowledge to tackle intricate challenges and develop innovative solutions. You will play a crucial role in revolutionizing actuarial analyses through advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.

Your responsibilities will include the development and execution of analytics-driven solutions aimed at enhancing business processes, generating valuable insights, and supporting strategic objectives. You will manage and deliver projects with complex scopes tailored to actuarial and financial data, including experience studies, reserve forecasting, and risk evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Actuarial Innovation: Spearhead AI and advanced analytics initiatives that transform actuarial and financial functions, focusing on critical areas such as risk evaluation and financial forecasting.
  • Provide Strategic Insights: Collaborate with internal actuarial and business leaders to deliver analytics-driven insights that address complex business challenges.
  • Implement Advanced Analytics: Design and execute state-of-the-art analytics solutions to enhance operational processes and drive financial insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside actuarial stakeholders, business operations, and IT teams to integrate solutions into existing workflows effectively.
  • Enhance Actuarial Practices: Review and refine current actuarial processes to identify enhancement opportunities through advanced analytics.
  • Data Analysis Expertise: Utilize extensive actuarial and financial data to develop sophisticated models for risk assessment and financial forecasting.
  • Thought Leadership: Stay at the forefront of industry advancements by researching and applying new analytics methodologies relevant to actuarial science.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Actuarial designation (FSA, FCIA) with extensive experience in progressive actuarial roles.
  • Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and actuarial software such as R or SAS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in big data processing frameworks.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team development experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts clearly.

Compensation and Benefits:
