Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Rehabilitation Therapy Technician III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care and support to individuals in need.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans for assigned therapeutic specialties.
  • Provide direct contact instruction and training to patients on their treatment plans.
  • Train others to ensure continuity of treatment plans.
  • Monitor the implementation of program objectives and gather data to report to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and provide feedback on individual progress.
  • Develop and maintain data collection systems for assigned therapeutic specialties.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge and skills in relevant therapeutic techniques.
  • Ability to train staff in treatment methods and related areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to assist in development of treatment and support plans.
  • Ability to utilize personal computers and relevant software.
  • General knowledge of Joint Commission/Behavioral Health regulations and state hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ability to meet the same physical requirements as those for direct contact staff positions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.

Working Conditions:

This position may require working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The ability to work effectively in a team setting and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.
