The Senior Rehabilitation Therapist (Registered Therapist Supervisor) is responsible for executing complex therapeutic rehabilitation tasks and treatment plans.

This role includes direct oversight and training for therapy technicians and fellow registered therapists within the rehabilitation services.

You will coordinate therapeutic rehabilitation activities and group therapy sessions for individuals in the department. Additionally, you will provide and/or oversee skilled therapy services to clients, ensuring accurate documentation of their attendance and treatment responses. You will also develop, implement, and assess assigned programs and activities, contributing to in-service training initiatives. Collaborating with departmental and hospital leadership, you will engage in performance improvement efforts to enhance programming. This position operates under limited supervision, allowing for significant initiative and independent judgment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Regular attendance and adherence to a specific shift schedule, including potential rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating therapy-specific activities.
  • Consulting and collaborating with various departments to establish a proactive rehabilitation environment focused on patient goals.
  • Conducting therapy assessments and formulating treatment objectives while monitoring documentation by direct reports.
  • Implementing person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed care.
  • Supervising and training rehabilitation technicians and therapists, while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives, including policy revisions and client needs assessments.
  • Supporting safety and infection control measures relevant to rehabilitation settings.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of rehabilitation therapy principles and techniques across diverse patient populations.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific therapeutic modalities.
  • Expertise in individualized care and recovery plan documentation.
  • Proficiency in facilitating interactions with individuals.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and infection control protocols.
  • Skills in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Effective communication and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to motivate individuals and adapt therapy programs as needed.
  • Competence in conducting assessments and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Capacity to respond calmly and professionally in high-pressure situations.
