We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Therapist IV to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our rehabilitation department, you will be responsible for providing advanced and complex therapeutic rehabilitation activities and treatment to individuals. Your expertise will be utilized to coordinate therapeutic rehabilitation services and programs within the department, supervise and train Registered Therapists and Rehabilitation Therapy Technicians, and develop treatment protocols for specialty areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate discipline-specific therapy and activities.
- Develop treatment protocols for specialty areas and provide consultation and collaboration among department, units, recovery teams, and administration.
- Perform therapy evaluations and assessments, formulate and develop goals and objectives, and implement person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed care.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate rehabilitation technicians and registered therapists in the rehabilitation department.
- Develop in-service training programs and monitor and audit documentation completed by direct reports.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, including revision of departmental policies and procedures, identifying client and programmatic needs, and developing and implementing outcome measures.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of rehabilitation therapy in working with various patient populations.
- Knowledge of discipline-specific therapeutic modalities in the recovery process.
- Knowledge of implementation and documentation of individualized care and recovery plans.
- Knowledge of approved methods of facilitating and interacting with individuals.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and infection control.
- Skills in the use of rehabilitation and orthopedic equipment, materials, and tools.
- Skills in evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation of patient progress.
- Skills in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Skills in effective communication.
- Skills in the supervision of multiple employees.
