About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to join our team at Symposium Café Restaurant and Lounge. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our high standards of quality and customer service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management
    • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
    • Monitor and control costs, including labor, inventory, and supplies
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards
  • Staff Management
    • Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff
    • Develop and implement staff development programs to improve skills and knowledge
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that all customers receive excellent service and have a positive experience
    • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Marketing and Sales
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase sales and revenue
    • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare and manage budgets, including labor, inventory, and supplies
    • Monitor and control costs to ensure profitability
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a restaurant or food service management role
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
