Position Overview

The role of the Printing Press Assistant Operator involves working in a dynamic environment where precision and attention to detail are paramount. This is a permanent position with a commitment of 36 to 48 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install plates or cylinders and perform necessary adjustments.
  • Manage ink fountains and regulate color and viscosity.
  • Prepare the press and operate at a reduced speed to verify sample quality.
  • Oversee ongoing press operations for quality assurance using a computer control console.
  • Remove and clean plates and cylinders following the completion of the press run.
  • Report any operational issues to the supervisor.
  • Engage in various labor-intensive and basic tasks as required.
  • Conduct light cleaning and housekeeping duties.
  • Assist in feeding and unloading production machinery and equipment.
  • Support skilled tradespersons as needed.
  • Adjust machinery and equipment to ensure optimal settings.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
