About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Printing Press Operator Assistant to join our team at Cascades Canada ULC. As a key member of our pressroom team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our printing equipment and maintaining high-quality production standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pressroom Operations: Assist in the setup and operation of printing presses, including mounting plates or cylinders and making necessary adjustments.
  • Quality Control: Monitor regular press runs for quality using computer control consoles and report any malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Remove and clean plates and cylinders at the end of press runs and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist skilled tradespersons with adjusting machinery and equipment to proper settings and feed and unload production machinery and equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience in a pressroom or related environment is an asset.
  • Skills: Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
