Print Press Operator Role

Position Overview:

The Print Press Operator is responsible for the following:

  • Mounting plates or cylinders and making necessary adjustments for optimal performance
  • Filling ink fountains while controlling color and viscosity for quality output
  • Setting up the press and operating it at a slow speed to verify sample quality
  • Monitoring the regular press run for quality assurance using a computer control console
  • Removing and cleaning plates and cylinders at the conclusion of each press run
  • Reporting any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor promptly
  • Performing various laboring and basic activities as required
  • Monitoring the machine during operation to ensure efficiency
  • Making necessary adjustments to machinery as needed
  • Feeding and unloading processing machines
  • Assisting skilled tradespersons with their tasks
  • Conducting housekeeping activities to maintain a clean work environment
