Department Overview: The Regional Cancer Program is responsible for overseeing the quality and delivery of cancer services for a large population, ensuring safe and effective care.

Role Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Cancer Screening and Diagnostic Imaging, the Project Coordinator will be instrumental in monitoring processes and providing project management support for quality improvement initiatives related to cancer screening programs. The primary focus will be on enhancing access and efficiency for patients utilizing the screening services.

The Project Coordinator will:

  • Execute projects aimed at improving patient access and service timeliness.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders to implement initiatives that align with strategic healthcare goals.
  • Work with multiple healthcare facilities to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Facilitate project planning and execution to maximize collaboration and minimize risks.
  • Support a team dedicated to continuous quality improvement and performance enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Develop and implement project management plans to meet timelines and manage risks.
  • Lead regional committees to support project governance and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to various audiences, including leadership.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Health or Business; Master's degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Experience in cancer screening programs is advantageous.
  • Change Management certification is beneficial.
  • Proven project management skills and experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive reports and presentations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to multitask.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
