Your Opportunity:

Position Overview:

As a Surgical Processor at Alberta Health Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures. Your primary responsibilities will include the thorough decontamination, meticulous reassembly, and effective sterilization of medical supplies, surgical instruments, and equipment.

Utilizing the principles of aseptic technique, you will adhere to Universal Precautions to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). Your attention to detail will be essential as you verify that all instrumentation and equipment are functioning correctly. You will also conduct biological, chemical, and quality assurance testing, promptly reporting any issues to your supervisor or designated personnel.

Required Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you must have completed an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Additionally, certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with CSA certification.
