Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Processor to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Surgical Processor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the decontamination, reassembly, and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment, and surgical instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate and reassemble hospital supplies, equipment, and surgical instrumentation
- Perform biological, chemical, and quality assurance testing to ensure equipment is in proper working order
- Report any problems or issues to the supervisor or designate
- Ensure adherence to Universal Precautions and aseptic technique to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI)
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program
- Completion of a Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSA certification
