Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Surgical Supply Management Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuous availability and upkeep of various high-value equipment, including sterile supplies and both minor and capital equipment utilized in the operating rooms and the peri-anesthesia department. This position involves close collaboration with OR nursing staff, MDRD personnel, Clinical Engineering, and Supply Chain Coordinators to execute daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities that guarantee equipment is accessible and functioning optimally for surgical operations. Key tasks include monitoring equipment sets, managing reusable supplies, maintaining instrument inventory, and promptly reporting any discrepancies to the relevant parties.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will undertake a variety of tasks related to customer service and supply distribution. Your responsibilities will encompass initiating orders, tracking medical and surgical supplies and equipment, overseeing transactions, monitoring inventory levels, managing repairs and loaner devices, and ensuring the availability of supplies for optimal patient care. Additionally, you will be tasked with conducting inventory counts, maintaining records, and ensuring thorough documentation.

Required Qualifications:

- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Experience in healthcare procurement and shipping/receiving processes.

Additional Required Qualifications:

- Grade 12 Diploma alongside completion of a post-secondary education/business program from a recognized institution (a combination of experience and education will be taken into account).
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a large, complex, and diverse organization.
- Advanced computer proficiency, particularly with MS Office (including advanced Excel skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience in shipping, receiving, and material handling.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills, capable of delivering clear, concise, and accurate information in response to complex inquiries.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to exhibit communication skills that foster respect and a positive team atmosphere in a demanding environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to competing and changing workload demands.
- Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills, integrating critical thinking and sound judgment.
