Dual Diagnosis Support Specialist

Position Overview: The role of the Support Worker for Dual Diagnosis is crucial in providing assistance to individuals with complex needs. This position involves working collaboratively within a residential support team to enhance the daily living, social, and recreational activities of clients facing dual diagnosis challenges.
Location: The position is based in a community-focused environment where the emphasis is on fostering independence and quality of life for clients.
Compensation: The hourly wage for this role is competitive, reflecting the skills and qualifications required.
Work Schedule: Employees will have a guaranteed number of hours per pay period, with schedules provided well in advance to ensure work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with dual diagnosis, mental health issues, and behavioral challenges in alignment with their personalized care plans.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, homemaking, and community engagement.
- Implement behavior management strategies and support plans under the guidance of management.
- Promote the rights and choices of clients, ensuring their independence and self-determination.
- Maintain accurate documentation and client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational standards.
- Foster a positive team environment and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.
Qualifications:
- A secondary school diploma and a minimum of one year of post-secondary education in Human or Health Services.
- Additional training in dual diagnosis, behavior management, or mental health is advantageous.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.
Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality support services, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience working with adults in community settings is preferred.
