Support Worker for Dual Diagnosis

Position Overview: The role of the Support Worker for Dual Diagnosis involves providing essential assistance to individuals with dual diagnosis within a residential support framework.
Wage Rate: Competitive hourly compensation is offered.
Work Schedule: Employees are assured a minimum of forty-eight (48) to seventy (70) hours of work per pay period, with schedules communicated well in advance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as part of a dedicated support team to enhance clients' social, recreational, and daily living experiences.
- Assist adults facing dual diagnosis, mental health challenges, and behavioral issues, adhering to their personalized life plans.
- Support clients in various activities, including homemaking, personal care, and community engagement, in line with their Quality of Life Plans.
- Implement established strategies and behavior management techniques under the guidance of the Client Services Manager and Counsellor.
- Uphold the rights, choices, and independence of clients while fostering their personal and community living skills.
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary education along with a minimum of one year of post-secondary education in Human or Health Services.
- Additional training in dual diagnosis, behavior management, or mental health is advantageous.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Possession of a valid G class driver's license.
- Proof of full COVID vaccination is required.

- Proficient in conflict resolution and problem-solving.

- Proficiency in computer applications, including email and other digital tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advocacy skills on behalf of clients.
- Regular attendance is essential for this role.
- Experience supporting adults with brain injuries in community-based or independent living settings is preferred.
Commitment to Safety: All employees are expected to prioritize safety in their work. Shifts typically span 12 hours and may include various times, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
