AVI Health and Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crisis Response Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing essential support to individuals experiencing crisis situations within the Comox Valley.

As a Crisis Response Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively with program staff and community partners to ensure the safety and well-being of those in need. Your responsibilities will encompass responding to crisis calls, conducting outreach in various settings, and providing direct support to individuals facing challenging circumstances.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate starting at $33.99, with stepped increases based on seniority within AVI.
  • Additional 5% in lieu of vacation and 5% in lieu of statutory holidays, resulting in an effective hourly rate that is 10% higher than the listed amount.
  • Participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP) with AVI's contribution of 9.31% towards your pension account.
Work Environment and Schedule

This position offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment within a unionized setting under the Collective Agreement: HEABC & Health Services & Support Community Subsector Association. You will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals while working alongside a dedicated team of professionals.

  • Casual shifts typically fall between Monday and Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Mandatory training schedule will be conducted throughout October.
  • Work locations include the PACT office, various community centers, outdoor settings, and individuals' homes within the Comox Valley.
