Project Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel
Your Role
- Oversee daily operations for industrial clients of the Project Logistics department, ensuring seamless execution of logistics processes.
- Coordinate operational activities for turnkey EPC projects, project accounts, and specialized one-off cargo movements, fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
- Arrange cargo bookings with carriers, internal service providers, and agents, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Develop and implement collaborative work with overseas counterparts, promoting effective communication and mutual understanding.
- Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for project and shipment requirements, adhering to regulatory and company standards.
- Monitor and update daily shipment status for clients, providing transparent and timely information.
- Update transport management tracking systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Assist with invoicing and job costing, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Support safe project execution, aligning with quality, health, safety, security, and environmental standards, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
- Process supplier invoices and prepare customer invoices, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Ensure timely file closure for financial ledger closing, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Ensure project execution aligns with company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of compliance and adherence.
- Provide assistance to clients with RFIs/RFQs, offering expert advice and guidance.
- Prepare individual quotations for budgetary and firm requests, providing accurate and competitive pricing.
- Prepare reports for management and clients, providing insights and analysis on project performance and logistics operations.
- Select and qualify vendors based on quality and safety requirements, ensuring reliable and trustworthy partnerships.
- Investigate and resolve lost or misdirected shipments, processing damage claims and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Promote and sell transport insurance to clients, offering expert advice and guidance on risk management.
- Act as a super user for transport management systems, training new staff and ensuring seamless system adoption.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, with a strong foundation in logistics principles and practices.
- 5+ years of experience in account management, preferably in freight forwarding or project logistics, with a proven track record of success.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in data analysis and reporting.
- Bilingual in French and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience in creating reports and presentations.
