Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Administrative Services Manager, your role will encompass:

  • Formulating recommendations and managing designated functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, data entry, invoicing, and compliance.
  • Handling payment processing, student loan management, creating payment arrangements, coordinating sponsorships, and addressing general inquiries related to student accounts.
  • Supervising the daily operational flow of the business office, ensuring that most tasks are self-directed within the framework of established objectives.
  • Identifying issues that necessitate higher-level managerial intervention, articulating these challenges, their implications, and proposing potential solutions.
  • Consulting with management on matters that involve new applications or interpretations of policies, particularly when deviations are required.
  • Resolving complex administrative challenges, advising on applicable policies and procedures, and recommending improvements for efficiency.
  • Providing daily leadership and guidance to other administrative personnel in the Business Office, determining work methodologies, and addressing training and resource needs.
  • Representing the Business Office as a member of various boards or committees.

Qualifications

Educational Background and Experience:

  • A post-secondary diploma in Business or Administrative Professional/Office Administration is required.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a dynamic office setting is essential.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and email communication.
  • Comfortable operating in a digital workspace, with a commitment to staying informed about evolving technologies.
  • Experience in providing support to students and prospective students is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities; experience in finance, accounting, or student services is a plus.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Familiarity with account management software such as PeopleSoft Student or SAP is beneficial.
  • Experience in training others is a valuable asset.
